For this years feast, we chose Northern Italy! Buongiorno! And that is the extent of my Italian prowess. Many people have asked (and by that I mean two or three) why do you say northern Italy and not simply Italy. And to that I respond, “that is an intelligent and handsome question. Well done, you. Really superb.”
The difference is that northern Italy favors a coastal cuisine and is much more Mediterranean than traditional Italian food we find in southern and central Italy. Bright, colorful fish and shrimp dishes, lots of beans and vegetables, and crusty bread. What’s not to love? Enjoy our very first foray into international cooking. We sure did.
